Our Approach

Physician-Led Brain Care

Houston Mind & Brain is the private practice of Dr. Raymond Cho and a leading Houston center for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and interventional psychiatry. We combine comprehensive psychiatric care—including consultation, evaluation, and medication management—with advanced, research-driven brain-based treatments to deliver safe, personalized, and clinically rigorous care.

Why Houston Mind & Brain?

Houston Mind & Brain is a specialized center for TMS and interventional psychiatry, offering FDA-cleared, non-invasive treatments for depression, OCD, and other conditions. Care is delivered using structured, research-informed protocols within a coordinated, team-based model.

Founded by Dr. Raymond Cho, the practice is shaped by decades of clinical and research experience in neuromodulation. This foundation guides how protocols are developed, how safety is monitored, and how treatment is adjusted over time.

Our highly trained team delivers coordinated care across psychotherapy, medication management, TMS (standard and accelerated), Spravato, ketamine, and cognitive testing—designing treatment plans that are individualized, consistent, and focused on meaningful outcomes.

Rigorous Clinical Training

All Houston Mind & Brain TMS treaters are BrainsWay-certified and complete an additional in-house training program developed and led by Dr. Raymond Cho. That training combines classroom education on TMS mechanisms, supervised observations, and hands-on practice under senior staff. Technicians and providers complete hundreds of hours of supervised training over several months before treating patients independently.

Supervision & Case Review

Dr. Cho leads a structured supervision and case review model across the clinical team. Experienced nurse practitioners and clinicians participate in regular case discussions, with weekly multidisciplinary reviews and dedicated monthly training sessions with Dr. Cho. This ongoing collaboration ensures consistent, high-quality care, thoughtful clinical decision-making, and alignment with the latest evidence-based approaches.

BLS Certified

We prioritize medical readiness: all staff maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification and participate in regular safety training and emergency preparedness drills. This reflects a clinic-wide standard of preparedness and ensures a consistently safe, reliable care environment.

Why it Matters

Safety and clinical expertise at HMB are built on multiple layers: manufacturer certification, Dr. Cho’s in-house training curriculum, extensive supervised clinical experience, and ongoing emergency preparedness. This integrated model ensures patients receive expert, reliable, and consistently high-quality care.

We prioritize safety, clarity, and consistency at every step—from careful clinical screening and in-clinic monitoring to transparent guidance around costs and insurance. Treatments are not delivered in isolation, but thoughtfully sequenced and adjusted over time to support meaningful, lasting outcomes.

We Accept Insurance and Make Care Affordable

We accept most major plans for FDA-cleared treatments (including standard TMS and Spravato). We verify benefits, manage prior authorization, and provide a written estimate before treatment so there are no surprises.

  • Do you accept Medicaid?

No - we accept Medicare but do not accept Medicaid. If you have questions about coverage, call our team and we’ll help.

  • Will my insurance cover TMS?

Many commercial plans cover standard TMS when medical-necessity criteria are met. Accelerated/fast-track TMS is often self-pay. We verify benefits and submit prior authorization on your behalf.

  • What if I’m out of network?

This is uncommon because we are credentialed with most plans. If needed, we can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement.

  • How do I get a written estimate?

Request a free 20-minute clinician call. We’ll run a benefits check, explain likely coverage, and send a written estimate of patient responsibility before any treatment.

  • Can I get sliding scale pricing for TMS?

    We make it easy:

Book a free 20-minute clinician call (or MD consult), and our billing team will check your insurance and deductible. If you appear eligible, we’ll ask for a quick proof of income and then send a written estimate so you know the exact cost before scheduling.

    Heads up:

Medicare patients and accelerated protocols aren’t eligible.
